About

MDR Photo is run by equine photographer Michael David Rogers.

For my whole childhood I rode ponies and horses, competing at all Pony Club events including the National Championships in 2002 (SJ & Horse Trials). For four years I also competed at Novice British Eventing on my father's horse, Dime (you can see some photos at the bottom of this page). It was whilst at horse competitions I started taking photos.

Whilst studying at University I brought my first SLR camera and started photographing equestrian events whilst also competing. Over the last 10 years I have built up my experience, specialising in equestrian and cricket photography. I was shortlisted twice for the MCC Young Cricket Photographer of the Year in 2006 & 2007.

For the last three years I have solely concentrated on equestrian photography working for a number of equestrian event photography companies across the south of England (including Ultimate Images, Sporting Moments & Catch It Quick). These events have ranged from local pony club events to 3* International Horse Trials and the Olympia International Horse Show.

I am also experienced in covering corporate events and have done so for a number of large companies in London (including Reuters, Energy Saving Trust, Capital Cranfield, UKSIP). Although based in Hertfordshire, I am happy to travel across the country for the right job.
