Horses – Estella, Arabella, Laraghlee, Supreme Glimpse, Tinkas Whiz Kid, Badgers Opium and Supreme Glimpse
Harriet Upton is a young event rider based in West Sussex who's ultimate aim is to compete for Great Britain at an Olympic Games. At the age of 15 Harriet has already competed in three 1* events including Le Pin Au Haras in France where she was part of a squad of British Junior Riders and she placed 17th overall and was the 4th highest junior.
Harriet is a member of the British Eventing U18 Programme and the Junior Squad. She is a member of the Crawley and Horsham Pony Club and also competes for her school. Harriet is currently trained and mentored by Ken Spencer, Gill Watson, Melanie Breen and British Olympic rider Kristina Cook.
Harriet says she has the "most amazing support team in Mum, Dad and Grandad and the best trainers Tina Cook, Ken Spencer, Melanie Breen and Gill Watson". She also has some really supportive owners who have trusted her with some amazingly talented horses. With a string of seven horses Harriet will be competing across disciplines and all the levels of eventing from BE90 up to 1*'s and Intermediate in 2012.
Harriet has decided to finish school after GCSE’s this summer and will then be looking to move into the horse world on a full time basis. To help her on her way she is currently working part time for Fiona Bigwood and Anders Dahl, one of the world’s most successful dressage partnerships. They both compete on an international level for their respective countries, Great Britain and Denmark.

Estella (Stella) is owned by Jill Chaytor and is currently competing at Novice / 1*. Harriet has been riding Stella since May 2010 and in 2012 Harriet was hoping to take Estella to Intermediate level and qualify for the Junior Europeans in Poland. However unfortunately just a few weeks before the start of the season Stella injured herself in the field. The injury turned out to be to the Straight Distal Sesamoidean Ligament meaning she will be out of action for the whole of 2012. This is such disappointing news for Harriet as they had a great hopes for the year ahead but fingers crossed they will be back competing next year.
