Supported Riders

As a rider and a keen supporter of the sport of eventing I decided a few years ago to support two riders, providing them with photos, videos and website services in return for promotion. Although the main support I can give is through my photography and other services, however I always try to be there as a friend and be someone to lean on if they need that little bit of help or someone to talk to.

Clare Stringer
My first supported rider is Clare Stringer, who is an amateur event rider focusing on eventing for fun and the love of the sport, she owns two horses Bandolero (Bandi) and Kitty Way (Fifi).

Bandi is having a quiet life after successfully competing at Novice level. Fifi is an ex-racehorse who Clare competes in British Eventing horse trials and in 2015 they are aiming to qualify for the Badminton Grassroots Championships.

Clare manages to balance a busy life as a postie for Royal Mail with riding, competing and caring for her horses. She is excellent at promoting her sponsors and with support and encouragement could go to the highest levels of eventing. You can read a lot more about Clare and her event team on her website Team BSF Eventing.

In addition to being a postie and riding Clare is the regional coordinator for RoR (Retraining of Racehorses) for the East Midlands, covering Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Rutland.

If that wasn't enough Clare has recently started a Masters degree in order to become a Chiropractor!

Harriet Upton
Harriet Upton is my second supported rider, she is a young professional event rider based in West Sussex and aims to compete for Great Britain at an Olympic Games.

As a full time rider Harriet has a string of horses based with her, ranging from young 5 & 6 year olds at the beginning of their eventing career to Carraig Dubh (Danny) a very experienced horse who was previously ridden at the London Olympics in 2012.

In 2014 Harriet and Danny were selected to represent Great Britain at the Junior European Eventing Championships, held at Bishop Burton College. They performed excellently, finishing on their dressage score after completing a double clear in the cross country and show jumping phases.

In 2015 Harriet will be working towards selection for the Great Britain Young Rider squad, the next level up from Juniors. She will be competing on Danny at this level and upgrading her younger horses to this higher level as the season progresses.

You can read a lot more about Harriet and her event team on her website Harriet Upton Eventing.
